Il Palazzo appartiene alla famiglia del patriota Federico Romano, che ospitò Carlo Pisacane la notte antecedente il barbaro eccidio dei Trecento patrioti guidati dall'eroe napoletano, sbarcati sulla costa cilentana a Sapri il 28 giugno 1857.
